⇒It is opaque & incomplete layer present inner to choroid.
⇒It consists of RODS & CONES
⇒The rods & cones are photoreceptor cells that contain the pigments.
⇒Rods contains pigment called RHODOPSIN
i.e sensitive to dim light
⇒Cones contain pigment called IODOPSIN
i.e sensitive only to bright light
