Briefly explain how sonar is used in finding the depth of the sea​

Sonar is ( sound navigation ranging ) usually underwater. LEONARDO DA VINCI in 1490 who used a tube inserted into the  water to detect vessels by ear. I t was developed during the world war.

So basically, the ships send radiations of sound to the ground. These sound radiations touch the ocean bed after some time.  As soon as the radiations touch the bed, it comes back to the ship. As soon as the radiations are back, the sonar is sent for finding the depth of the sea. The sonar sends high frequency waves and then finally the ship calculates the depth by checking the time taken for the frequency waves to come back to the ship.
