Briefly explain how the drift velocity of electrons in a metallic conductor varies when temperature of the conductor is increased and the applied potential difference is decreased keeping temperature constant​

Answer:

For increase in temperature, the mobility of electrons decrease. As with rise in temperature, electrons make more frequent collinsions with the lattice due to which relaxation time of electrons is decreased which in turn decreases mobility.

With temperature remaining constant, if potential difference is decreased, drift velocity decreases as well, as the overall acceleration of electrons decreases.
