Maps and globes are widly used   to establish relationships between countries, distances between cities and to locate certain landmarks .

Maps  are large enough for everyone in the room to see, or small ones that can use individually whereas globes are usually produced in one size that is too small for everyone to see distinctively  at once and too large for everyone to have his or her own.

It is easier to see the distances and relationships between areas of the Earth on a map than on a globe. Since maps are flat, the  distance between two points is a straight line. We can see the beginning and end of the line and judge  how close or far away two points are from each other. This is harder on a globe because it is three-dimensional.

Answer:

  1. We can take maps anywhere as it is very portable, whereas we can't take the globes with us as it is not portable as maps.
  2. Maps are of different types namely political, physical and thematic, each showing different features of the earth, while globes can't show those features that can be shown by maps.
