Non conventional sources of energy are typically those sources of energy which are renewable. For e.g. wind energy, solar energy etc.
Conventional sources of energy are those which are being used and which are non renewable. For e.g. petrol, coal etc.
If we change all existing sources of energy to just conventional, then the fossil fuels will soon diminish. Fossil fuels when burnt lead to the emission of green house gases which increase the temperature of the Earth. This leads to the melting of polar caps and the increase in water levels. Ozone layer around the Earth is also affected by the presence of this gases. The thinning of ozone layer makes the atmosphere permeable to the harmful UV rays. The pollution caused by the burning of fossil fuels also makes the air unfit for inhalation which leads to several kinds of respiratory diseases.
