Pituitary gland has two lobes anterior and posterior lobe. both lobes secrete number of hormones that vary in their function.

ANTERIOR LOBE HORMONES

growth hormone: regulate growth and physical development.

thyroid stimulating hormone: activate thyroid to release hormones.

follicle stimulating hormone: regulate growth of egg cell in women and produce estrogen.

prolactins: helps to produce milk for breast feeding.

endorphins: pain relieving properties.

leutinizing harmone: production of estrogen in women and testosterone in men.

POSTERIOR LOBE HORMONES

vasopressin: help conserving water in body

oxytocin: stimulate the release of breast milk.
