• The liberal minded middle class of German Confederacy met in 1848 at Frankfurt parliament, with the idea of making Germany a nation, but it failed. It ended with monarchial triumph
• Later, Otto Von Bismarck led the movement of unity of German Confederacy. He organised military wars against countries which occupied German states
• He fought for seven years with Austria, Denmark and France and won. This completed the German unification.
