Briefly explain the reason why pressure in the pulmonary circulation is lower than pressure in the systemic circulation.

As we know that blood in pulmonary circulation flows from heart to lungs and again from lungs to heart. But in the case of systemic circulation the blood flows from heart to all parts of the body including the head and the toes and vice versa

The blood in systemic circulation has to work against gravity as it travels from heart to head and toes to heart. But it isn't in the case of the pulmonary circulation

So,in order to overcome the gravity pressure is higher in systemic circulation when compared to pulmonary circulation
