Himalayas plays a very important role in the climate of india because of its great height it prevents the entry of cold winds coming from other continents. That is why india has a moderate climate.

Answer:

The Himalayas play a crucial role in determining the "climate of India", especially during the "retreating monsoon season". The Himalayas are sometimes responsible for blocking out the cold winds originating from the central Asia.

This contributes to the temperature variation of the "Northern region of India". If the "Himalayas" were not present to block out the winds, the northern India would freeze out and the weather would be extremely cold.
