Briefly explain the term anodising

Corrosion of metals is harmful as it destroys the metals but in the case of aluminium, it is useful as when aluminium gets corroded, the corroded layer acts as a protective layer which protects aluminium. The process us known as oxidation of aluminium.....hope this helps.

Anodizing is an electrochemical process that converts the metal surface into a decorative, durable, corrosion-resistant, anodic oxide finish. Aluminum is ideally suited to anodizing, although other nonferrous metals, such as magnesium and titanium, also can be anodized.
