ANSWER.........

ELECTROCHEMISTRY

It is the branch of science that deals with the study of production of electrical energy from energy released during a spontaneous redox reaction and the use of electrical energy to bring about a non-spontaneous redox reaction.

CELL

The device or instrument in which interconversion of electrical and chemical energy take place is known as cell.

TYPES OF CELL

Electrochemical Cell

Electrolytic Cell.

ELECTROCHEMICAL CELL

The cell which is used to convert chemical energy into electrical energy is known as electrochemical cell.

OR

The device or cell on which production of electrical energy (electricity) from energy released during a spontaneous redox reaction is known as ELECTROCHEMICAL CELL.

Answer:

\huge\bf\pink{\mid{\overline{\underline{Electrochemical\:Cell}}}\mid}

Explanation:

An electrochemical cell is a device capable of either generating

electrical energy from chemical reactions or using electrical energy

to cause chemical reactions.

A Galvanic Cell  induces a spontaneous redox reaction

to create a flow of electrical charges, or electricity.

Non-rechargeable batteries are examples of Galvanic cells.

\small\bf\pink{\mid{\overline{\underline{Features\:of\:Electrochemical\:cells:}}}\mid}

Some of the features of electrochemical cells are:

» There is no evolution of heat.

» The solution remains neutral on both sides.

» The reaction and now of electrons stops after sometime.
