Depending upon the geographical conditions, demand of produce, labour and level of technology, farming can be classified into two main types. These are subsistence farming and commercial farming.

1.) Subsistence Farming :-

→ Subsistence farming is a form of production in which nearly all crops or livestock are raised to sustain the farm family, and rarely producing surpluses to sell for cash or store for later use.

2.) Commercial Farming :-

→ Commercial farming is the farming method in which plant and livestock production is practiced with the intention of selling the products on the market.
