Briefly explain what happens when- (i) dry Apricots are left for some time in pure water and later transferred to the sugar solution. (ii) red blood cell is kept in a concentrated saline solution.

When dry apricots are left for sometime in pure water, they will swell. Because, water will enter into them through the process of osmosis. Later,when these apricots will be transferred to sugar solution, they will again shrink. This also occurs due to osmosis.
