An alloy is a mixture of two or more elements, in which one element is a metal. They are made to enhance the property of the metal or element they which it contains, Thereby making it stronger and most useful.

For example :-

Inconel is a famous alloy.

It is made up of and it has the properties of Nickel and chromium. This combination gives Inconel very specific advantages. They make it very strong, versatile, resistant etc.

The Nickel present in it gives it high corrosion resistance. It makes Inconel the most useful alloy in industries with high temperatures and corrosion activities.
