⚫ Human Digestive System.

Digestive system of human constits of the Alimentary canal and it's associated glands.
The the digestive organs are mouth, oesophagus, stomach, small intestine, large intestine and associated glands are salivary gland, liver and pancreas.

Prossess of digestion of food are ingestion, digestion, absorption, assimilation, and egestion.

⚫ Ingestion :-
↪ Mouth is the special organ for Ingestion of food. With the help of hands the food is put in our mouth.

⚫ Digestion :-
Digestion process is carried out by different organs : Mouth, Stomach and Small Intestine.

♦ Mouth :- In mouth as we put food, firstly teeth chewed that food into small pieces. Then salivary gland secrets saliva and make food wet. Salivary glands secrets an enzyme called amylase it digest starch of food into maltose.

♦ Stomach :- From mouth undigested food enters stomach through oesophagus. Here it churned for 3 hours. Then the wall of stomach secrets gastric juice : Dil.HCL , Pepsin and mucus. HCL make acidic medium, in which pepsin become active and digest protein into small molecules.

♦ Small Intestine :- It is the main site of complete digestion of Carbohydrates, protein, and fats. It receive secretion of liver and pancreas.
▶ Liver :- It secrets bile, which is greenish yellow liquid stored in gall bladder in alkaline nature containing salts. Bile salts break the fats present in food into small globules.
▶ Pancreas :- Pancreas secrets pancreatic juice which contain enzyme amylase, trypsin and lipase. Amylase digest starch, trypsin digest protein and lipase digest fats.

⚫ Absorption :-
On completion of Digestion of food their absorption occurs in small Intestine. The inner wall of small Intestine form millions of small finger like thin projection called Villi. These Villi increases the surface area of Small Intestine.
And so the absorption becomes easy and rapid. The digested product absorbed and mix with the blood stream.

⚫ Assimilation :-
The nutrients, absorbed from Small Intestine flow through blood and are transported to various parts of the body where different tissues and cells obtain nutritients and utilize them for obtaining energy, for growth and other functions.

⚫ Egestion :-
The undigested food remains and passed on to the large Intestine. Here water and minerals get absorbed from it. The remaining are more or less solidified. This unless and undigested food passed out from anus. This process is also known as defaecation.
