For a definite law to come true, it's applications should be successful. Similarly there are successful applications of Newton’s laws of motion. Now, these applications are arranged:

1st law- “Everyone continues to be in its state of rest or uniform motion unless compelled by an external force to change it's state.”

Application- Washing machine.

This everyday household appliance ingeniously applies Newton's insights to the wringing of soaked laundry, a chore roundly dreaded in the preindustrial age as the most strenuous part of washday.

According to Newton's first law, matter will move in a straight line unless forced to do otherwise. In the washing machine's spin cycle, the drum rotates rapidly, it's inner walls continually pushing the clothes in a circular path. This directional change by definition means the clothes are accelerating and thus subject to external force. The rapid mechanical spinning can exert quite substantial force, as anyone who has witnessed the banging of an unevenly loaded washer can attest.

But the holes in the walls of the drum mean no such inward force acts on the water. The washwater is permitted to fly off along a linear path predicted by Newton, effectively wringing the clothes against the spinning drum.

Hope it Helps!!
