The principal language of ancient Mesopotamia were Summerian, Babylonian and Assyrian( together sometime known as 'Akkadian'),Amorite, and -later-Aramaic. They have come down to us in the "cuneiform"(I.e. wedge-shape) script, deciphere by Henry Rawlinson and other scholars in 1850s.
