I was preparing for college. My mother was busy in the kitchen. She was preparing my tiffin. She told me repeatedly that I should carry my umbrella in my bag because there is a forecast of heavy rain in the afternoon. I didn’t pay much heed to my mom’s repeated warnings and managed to leave home without it.

My college got over at 3 in the afternoon. The sky was already covered with thick grey clouds and as soon as I stepped out of the college premises it started raining. I had to take shelter under a shade and saw some of the girls from my college were on their way beneath their umbrellas. I repented.

I was in a hurry as I had to reach my tuition classes but waiting made it worse. I was heavily drenched when I reached my teacher’s place and was already sneezing badly. After returning home I fell sick and it took a week to recover. I missed classes in college and learned a good lesson.
