Answer:

Explanation:

Unification of italy

Italy was not a unified country before 1871,rather a pathwork of 7 states . It was under the control of different kings. The north was under the control of Austrian Habsburgs, centre by pope and south by spain . And only one among was controlled by italian princely house ;sardinia piedmont.Even the italian language didn't acquired its form.

Due to the failure of revolutionary attempt to unify italy meant the mantle to unify it fell on the shoulder of victor emmanuel .

Its chief minister cavour was the architect of this process implemented with the help of army and its bureaucracy. Through a tactful diplomatic alliance with the france engineered by cavour , sardinia piedmont succeeded in defeating the Austrian forces in 1859. In addition to this large number of armed forces under the leadership of Garibaldi joined the group.

In 1860 , they marched to the south italy and succeeded in winning the support of peasants to drive out the Spanish rulers. And completed this process of unification in 1861 (though papal state was included in 1871) and Victor emmanuel was declared as the king.
