Explanation:

Portia asks Antonio if he admits to owing Shylock money. ... Bassanio begs the court to bend the law slightly in order to exonerate Antonio, reasoning that such a small infraction is a little wrong for a great right. Portia replies, however, that the law shall not be broken—the decrees of Venice must stand.

Question: Bring out arguments between Portia and Shylock in court ?

Answer: Portia argued Shylock to have the quality of mercy on Antonio . But Shylock didn't listened her and said that he want to forfeit a pound of flesh that he may cut from any part of Antonio's body that he choose .

After that , Portia said that lawfully Shylock can claim his pound of flesh , according to the bond . Shylock was overjoyed . He brought his knife and said that he want a pound of flesh nearest to Antonio's heart . Portia again advised Shylock to be merciful but he didn't .

He told there shall be no arrangements for a surgeon . On this , Portia urged that it is out of charity . But Shylock was adamant . He moved forward with his knife .

Suddenly, Portia said that you must have a pound of flesh from Antonio's body but not a single drop of blood . If in cutting the flesh , Shylock shed one drop of Christian blood , everything that he own will be forfeit by the law to the state of Venice .

Everyone was shocked on this statement .
