In "Ozymandias" by Percy Bysshe Shelley situational irony is evident in the description of the dilapidated statue of the former king Ozymandias. At the base of the statue, it reads: "My name is Ozymandias, King of Kings: Look on my works, ye mighty, and despair!" ... but time plays havoc with his statue.
