The above given question is from the poem " To the pairs of Sarus Cranes".

In the poem we can see two different species, a human and a bird portraying completely different and contradictory traits.

Humans who claim to be the most modified species in terms of intellect and brain has shown the most merciful and inhuman act. The hunter showed cruelty and carefree trait while shooting the male sarus crane who was busy enjoying colours of nature.

While in the contrast the female sarus crane showed grief, sorrow, became insane after losing her partner. She hovered around the same place hoping her partner would come back alive.

She even took last feathers of her partner which were left behind while he was shot. And finally she died being heartbroken unable to accept his death.

This shows the caring, kind , loving nature of the bird to whom male sarus crane was more than just a partner. But to the hunters he was just a piece of meat and hence his life did not matter.
