The irony in this decision made by Caesar lies in the fact that he thought it was cowardly to hide within the walls of his castle which ultimately proved to be foolish and fatal for him.
Despite Calpurnia's several warnings and requests, the protagonist chose to visit the Senate house with his dear friend Brutus. The main trick that worked here was the persuasion and false interpretation of the dream by Decius. Caesar was so much motivated and proud after Brutus twisted explanation that he himself embraced his unfortunate destiny. Moreover, the sooner Caesar entered the Senate house, he was punctured with several stabs from every side. The conspirators were fully prepared for the act of disgrace.
