Hey here is ur answer.....
The irony of drama 'the dear Departed ' is that the daughters of Abel Marryweather was too much greedy for their father's property. But, when their father cames to know the reality of his daughters, he decided to marry with Mrs. Shorrocks(a widow who keeps the Ring-o-Bells a restaurant),and leave his all wealth to here after his Death. At the last he gives the remark of thanks to Slaters for bringing the Bureau down and an invitation of his marriage to the stupefied, greedy sisters.

The title of the play 'Dear Departed' is ironical. In the beginning of the play, we come to know that grandfather Mr. Abel hasdeparted from this world. He is notdear to his own daughters though they pretend that he is dear to both of them.
