Hi friend ,
In the story 'The Best Seller ' John A. Pescud criticized the best sellers and said that the stories of best sellers did not happen in real life. But his own love story was the same as that of best seller. In which a rich European man follows a royal European princess under an alias and then their love blooms and they get united .

Hope this helped u..

The story "The Bestseller" is written by O. Henry.
Similar to his other stories this story too has a surprise ending which brings out the Irony in the story.
In this story,John A Pescud is shown criticizing a best seller novel "Rose Lady and Trevelyan" which revolves around the story of an American hero who tries to woo a princess and succeeds in it.
He claims that such incidents never happen in real life and people tend to chose someone from a similar background.
But on the contrary,John A Pescud had a similar encounter his own life.He married a woman named "Jessie" who was very beautiful and from an aristocratic background whereas he was just a travelling salesman working in a plate-glass company.
