Answer:

O Captain! My Captain! is really beautiful poem written by Walt Whitman on the death of beloved president Abraham Lincoln.

The poet laments on the death of his beloved president. He expresses his feelings through this poem.

He says that O captain whatever you big dreams have seen for our people. You fought against every difficulty and challenge to achieve the dream. Though the journey was fearful and full of challenges but you successfully faced all and finally it's time to enjoy the success. But unfortunately my father,my captain lies on the rock, he doesn't feel anything. He is cold and dead.

This is poem is great example of melancholy.
