Brinn's rectangular kitchen has an area of 81 square feet. The kitchen is 9 times as many square feet as Brinn's pantry. If the rectangular pantry is 3 feet wide, what is the length of the pantry?

3 feet is the corrwct answer

feddersen7: If the answer is 3 feet, then the width would also be 3 feet. If the length and the width of the pantry are the same, then the shape of the pantry would be a square and not a rectangle.

a squair is a special type of rectangle with all sides equal.... This is why 3 comes to be length as well as breadth....
