British education in India was a mixed blessing because it had both advantages and disadvantages. Its advantage were:

1. It helped to broaden the minds of the Indians.

2. It encouraged the educated Indians to take up social reforms.

3. It helped to overcome superstitions and evil practices in society.

4. It helped the Indians to think rationally.

5. It also helped to enlarge the horizons of knowledge.

6. It exposed the Indians to western literature and culture.

7. English language helped the Indians of different regions to share their views about nationalism.

Its disadvantages were:

1. It introduced westernization in India.

2. English gained supremacy over the Indian languages.

In British education system there isn't any discrimination among people in society regarding caste, gender, colour, etc.,.

But in Indian education system the number of educated men are more than that of womens and the higher castes are generally educated whereas the lower ones are said to be illiterate.
