Many desert animals and insects survive the heat of the day by staying in burrows, deep inside the sand during the day. They come out only at night when it is cool. Examples are rats and snakes.
A camel has several adaptations to help it survive in a desert
* It has a hump where fat is stored. This provides it with food in times of shortage. It can, therefore, live without food for several days.
* It can drink a very large quantity of water at a time, then stay without water for a long time.
* It excretes very little water in the form of urine. Besides, it's dung is dry and it does not sweat. It thus loses very little water from it's body.
* It has long legs that keep it's body away fron the heat of the sand. It's feet have large soles and are suitable for walking on soft sand.

Kuldeepnehra:
Excretion of little water in urine is not only the adaptation of Camel but also of all desert animals. Please be generalised not specific to Camel only, thanks
