There are 4 types of sentences in English language :

1)Declarative - the sentence which makes a statement.  

example - 'It is a nice day today.'

2)Imperative - the sentence which makes command /gives command.  

example - 'Give me the pencil, please. '

3)Interrogative - the sentence which shows that it is a question.  

example - 'Did he hit the ball? '

4)Exclamatory - the sentence which has exclamatory mark(!).

example -' wow! the flower is so beautiful. '
