the story journey by night mainly emphasizes on the brotherly love of sher singh, a young and courageous boy living in the vicinity of the forest. when he realizes that his brother kunwar has reached the edges of death he volunteers to carry him to the forest all alone. he took up this challenging task all alone as there weren't anyone around to come to his mother's aid. his father had gone for a photographic expedition along with all the men of laldwani village who accompanied him as beaters.

It is a story about a elder brother and his younger brother . Sher Singh is the elder and Kunwar is the younger brother. Their father's name is Sher Singh Bahadur and he used to always go for expedition in jungle.One day Kunwar was suffering from stomach ache.Then Sher Singh and his mother tried a lot to cur him but they were unsuccesful . Then they decided to take him to doctor. While taking to doctor Sher Singh faced many prolems.But He didnt bake off.After reaching to hospital 50 miles away from his village Laldwani .He came to know that his brother is fine. And the doctor called him Sher Singh Bahadur with a smile
