The possibilities are two for the compound C₃H₆
One, it can be cyclo propane, and prop- 1 ene
Cyclopropane does not decolourise bromine solution
But propene will decolourise bromine solution, since it has an alkene
Like wise, the 4 carbon compound, C₄H₈, the possibilities are:
1. 2 methyl prop 1 ene
2. 2 butene
3. but - 1 ene
4. cyclo butane
But since only alkenes decolourise bromine solution, 1, 2 and 3 are the answers (I've bold them)
