cooking oil decolourises bromine water but butter does not decolourise it.
This is because the cooking oil is unsaturated so it will Decolorise it and butter is saturated so it will not decolorise it

The brown coloured bromine water becomes colourless when it is added in unsaturated compound. When bromine water is added to both cooking oil and butter ,then cooking oil decolourises bromine water but butter does not decolourise it. Hence cooking oil is unsaturated compound whereas butter is a saturated compound.

hope helps you make me as brainlist
