bronze is very hard and is malleable, it is also ductile which helps to shape it in a statue easily.

1.Statues are kept in open environment,so corossion may take place.But is bronze is an alloy,it resists corrosion
2.To make statues we need to carv and make some minute structure,Hence the substance should be malleable.and bronze is malleable
3.Bronze is the cheapest alloy and readily available
