Given:

Brooke is paving the parking spot shown below.

It costs $40 to pave each square meter.

Find:

Cost to pave the parking spot.

Explanation:

From the given figure the triangle is 30°-60° and 90° triangle

Given that side which is opposite 60° angle = 6\frac{2}{3}  m

So, Sin(60) =  \frac{6 \frac{2}{3} }{Hypotenious}

Hypotenuses =  6\frac{2}{3} × Sin(60) = 6\sqrt{3}

Base of parking lot is given by 3 meter.

So The area parking lot = 3 ×  6\sqrt{3} = 18\sqrt{3} = 31.176 sq.m.

It costs $40 to pave each square meter.

Total cost = $40 × 31.176 = 1247.07$

Answer: $800

Step-by-step explanation:

The parking space is a parallelogram because it has 444 sides and opposite sides parallel.

Area of a parallelogram  =base⋅height

                                      =  3 x 6 and 2/3

                                       =  3 x 3/20

                                      = 20

The area of the parking space is 20m^2

Cost to pave  = m^2 for parking space ⋅ cost to pave each m^2

                                20 x 40

       = 800

The cost to pave the parking spot is $800
