Answer:

Explanation:

Q1. Since you have learnt Show; don’t tell, describe the setting and mood of the first scene by writing a short paragraph using show; don’t tell.

Ans- While buying herself some stuff the customer talks to the sales woman as she asks for the big bottles of water. An argument grows. ‘NO!’ The mood grows dark as Danny runs carrying his broken toy, As he takes out his anger at Ben. Richard joins in and stops the argument. The mood goes light again, as the adults continue their talk, Andrew enters. The boys gossip about school.

Q2- What is Danny’s attitude towards his younger brother, Ben?

Ans- Danny does not like his brother. He hates the fact that he even has a brother. Danny is not quite forgiving when it comes to his brother. He even calls his brother an ‘accident’. But as we progress into the story we see how protective Danny is of his brother, and how much he goes through to help him. It is already hard for him to protect himself but he still goes out of the way to protect Ben.

Q3. Danny is supposed to be someone with a good sense of humor. Can you find a glimpse of his sense of humor in scene 1?

Quote an example.

Ans- I did find a glimpse of Humor in Scene 1. The examples are:

1- This is my Dad. The most miserable man in existence. This is my mum. She’s OK. The only thing wrong with my mum is that she made my little brother. He’s the little squirt you just saw. (Act 1, Scene 1, p.g. 19, 9th paragraph).

2- Wanna bet? I’ve got a great history test all afternoon. If there’s one thing I hate more than Rhodes, it’s history.

(Act 1, Scene 1, p.g. 20, 1st paragraph).

I hope this helps :D
