Given :  Browny and Raults were looking at the price of an apartment.

20% more than Raults had in savings and separately the same

Browny had in savings.

To find :  What is the ratio of what Browny has in savings.

Solution:

Raults  has in saving  = x

=> 20% more than Raults had in savings = x + (20/100)x  = 1.2x

Browny has in saving  = y

20% more than Raults had in savings and separately the same

Browny had in savings = price of an apartment.

=>  1.2x = y

=> 12x = 10y

=> 6x = 5y

=> x/y  =  5/6

=> x : y = 5 : 6

Ratio of saving of Raults  and  Browny  = 5 :  6
