Bryophyta means it is a traditional name used to refer all embryophytes that do not have true vascular tissure and are therefore called non vascular plants.

examples-mosses,liverworts.

pteridophyta are vascular plants with xylem and phloem that reproduce and disperse via spores. Because they produce niether seeds nor flowers, they are referred to as cryptogams.
