Buffaloes are seen enjoying in lakes and ponds in summer to cool their body and maintain the body temperature.

EXPLANATION:

Like other animals buffaloes are large land creatures staying under the sun for more than 10 hours and unlike us humans, they don’t have shelter to protect themselves from the scorching sun.

So the only way to cool their body is natural water bodies and unlike us they don’t have enough sweat glands to help them perspire which also helps in cooling of body and on the top of that their skin color is dark making it absorbent to more heat. Therefore, to cool off their bodies naturally Buffaloes relies on natural water bodies.
