9) let the no. of apples in the smaller box be 'x'

now, ATP

no. of apples in larger box = {(10 × x) + 8}. ------------(1)

also, no. of apples in larger box = 88 apples { given ----------(2)

now, equating both eqn, we will get

10x + 8 = 88

→ 10x = 88 – 8

→ 10x = 80

→ x = 80/10

→ x = 8

since, x is equal to 8 therefore no. of apples in smaller box is 8.
