Why are buildings built on landfills or reclined areas more dangerous during earthquakes as compared those built on stable soil?
Answer: Generally we mean a “landfill,” as a designated site where waste is disposed of and buried.
but, a landfill may also refer to ground that has been filled in with rocks and sand or soil rather than waste materials, so that it can be used for building a houses.
If these landfills are not properly stabilized, a large earthquake may cause severe shaking or liquefaction of the ground to cause a major damage to the structures located on and around the landfill.
