use kinetic energy conservation
I.e. kinetic energy before impact= kinetic energy after impact...
do the calculation yourself..
before impact the kinetic energy will be only with the bullet as block is at rest.
after impact take the mass of the system as sum of the masses of block and bullet i.e. 2m.
then you will get the velocity of the composite system
