Synthetics burn with an acrid, chemical or vinegar-like odor and leave a plastic bead. Acrylic: Flames and burns rapidly with hot, sputtering flame and a black smoke. Has an acrid, fishy odor. The residue is a hard irregularly-shaped black bead.
