When a candle burns wax is melted .

We can obtain solid form of this wax by cooling and again turn this into liquid by heating .The state of the candle is changed but the chemical properties remain the same. Hence, it is a physical change.

Whereas when a candle burns it release carbon dioxide gas and ash.

Here ash and CO2 are new products Hence burning of a candle is a chemical change.

Note : Burning of anything is always a chemical change.
