burning of cotton smells like burning of paper while burning of nylon smells like plastid why?

Cotton is plant based fibre, so it will resemble in some properties with paperwhich is also a plant based product. ... since cotton and paper are obtained from plants i.e. their raw material is the same thats why they smell alike when burning .wool is sheep's hair thats why ,when burnt,smells like burning hair.
