yes, today in india almost 60% of energy is originate from fossil fuels and this cause a global warming because fossil fuels give more pollution then other sources of energy. like coal produce a lot of toxic gas before burning.

Burning of fossil fuels in the environment releases harmful gases like CO , CO2,etc which are greenhouse gases .These gases have the ability to allow heat coming from outside environment but do not allow the heat giving out by the earths surface and thus traps heat leading to global warming.
