Answer:

Step-by-step explanation:

Given:

Bus A takes 20 minutes and bus B takes 45 minutes to complete their respective routes.

To Find:

At what time are they both back at the bus depot together.

Solution:

1) It is given in the question that the both buses take different time to complete their respective routes.

2) So they will return to the starting point after 20 min and 45 min.

3) they will return to the depot together after LCM [20, 45]

4) LCM [20, 45] by the prime factorization

20 = 2×2×5

45 = 3×3×5

LCM[20, 45] = 2×2×5×3×3 = 180 min.

5) 180 min means 3 hours, so they will meet after the 3 hr

Bus A and Bus B will meet at 9 pm.
