Bus A averages 40 kilometers per gallon of fuel. Bus B averages 50 kilometers per gallon of fuel. If the price of fuel is $3 per gallon, how much less would an 800-kilometer trip cost for Bus B than for Bus A? (A) $18 (B) $16 (C) $14 (D) $12 (E) $10

for 800km,

A takes 800/40=20gallon fuel

B takes 800/50=16gallon fuel

therefore,(20*$3)-(16*$3)=$12 less
