Swami felt so because Samuel did not scold him when he reached late to class. The teacher inspecting the home lessons usually produced scenes of great violence but that day he just pushed away the bad books, touched people with his cane, did not make anyone stand for more than five minutes. He did not even hit Swami for not completing his homework.
