Let salim's father's age be a
∴  \frac{1}{3} (a-5)+ \frac{1}{2} xa=20
∴  \frac{a}{3} - \frac{5}{3} + \frac{a}{2} =20
∴  \frac{a-5}{3} + \frac{a}{2} =20
∴  \frac{2a-10+3a}{6} =20
∴ 2a-10+3a=20x6
∴ 2a+3a=120+10
∴ 5a=130
∴ α= \frac{130}{5}
∴ α=26
∴ Salim's father's age is 26 years.
